Trying this summer time school program for the kids. Hoping for good results. Will report back in a few weeks how its going.

K5 Learning has an online reading and math program for kindergarten to grade 5 students.  I've been given a 6 week free trial to test and write a review of their program.  If you are a blogger, you may want to check out their  open invitation to write an online learning review of their program.

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas from the Taylor Family.

And the angel said unto them,
"Fear not! For, behold, I bring you tidings of great joy,
Which shall be to all people. "For unto you is born
this day in the city of David A Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
And this shall be a sign unto you: Ye shall find the babe
wrapped in swaddling clothes, Lying in a manger.

~ Luke 2:10-12

Snow in Austin??

This is snow in Austin.
It melted as it touched the ground.
Hopefully we'll get real snow over Christmas.

Summer Vacation

So I realize it's been literally 6 months since our blog has been updated...For fear of embarrasing the people who link to our blog from theirs, at last, AN UPDATE! We took our first vacation as a family of 4 to South Padre Island. It was the perfect time to go (although I will admit, 6 hours in the car on Mother's Day didn't sound like an ideal way to celebrate, but it turned out far better than expected) since school wasn't out yet. We had the beach and entire condo building, pool ,etc. to ourselves (and got the "off season" rates of course:) The kids had blast in the sand and Emery loved jumping over the waves. We spent the afternoons at the pool at the condo as well.

We rented a condo right on the beach which was fantastic!

Does she look like a little surfer or what?!

Both kids LOVED feeding the sea gulls every night although they are pretty much the pigeons of the beach world.

Adorable!

Shirtless is a way of life in our house. Don't worry, just the kids:) It's so fun seeing that no one in the world is as amusing to Everett and Emery as each other. They laugh so hard together!

This picture makes me laugh- I look like Wilson on Home Improvement where he was always hiding behind a fence when talking to Tim.

We went to the Brownsville Zoo one day and both kids had such a great time. I sware every animal had a baby. We had the most fun watching a baby gorilla named Margaret and learned that gorillas nurse there young for 3 years. Hmmm...not just the old opposable thumbs to be greatful for, huh?!

Two cuties! Everett ADORES his daddy like none other these days. Jeff says it's because he knows he doesn't have to talk all the time they can just play in silence. What?! Guess a sister and mom can be exhausting.

This picture goes in my top 10 favorite of all times. I love everything about it.
